Redsn0w is a special tool to jailbreak iOS devices and you can follow these steps to jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G, iPad. This method is just tethered jailbreak which mean that you will have to connect your phone to PC or Mac everytime your reboot the device. Requirement:
- Download iOS 4.3.5 for your devices from here.
- Download Redsn0w 0.9.9b4 for Windows or Mac from here.
- Download iTunes. You can visit Apple site for the lastest version.
Now you can follow the following steps to jailbreak iOS 4.3.5.
Step 1: If you don’t have iOS 4.3.5, you can get it by connecting your device to PC ans start iTunes.
Step 2: Start the Redsn0w (downloaded above) then press “Extras” then select “IPSW” to point to the iOS 4.3.5 (ipws format you downloaded above too).
Step 3: Now select “Install Cydia” and click “Next”. Note that in this step, you can optimize your iPhone as will wish with other options but you should know what you are doing before selecting anything. If you don’t want to risk, you can follow the step 4.
Step 4: Before click “Next” make sure that your device is OFF and PLUGGED to the PC. Now you will have to set you phone into DFU mode. Follow the below steps:
- Press and Hold Power and Home Button for 10 seconds. Now you can release the Power button while keep holding Home button for another 10 second.
- Now you are in DFU mode.
DONE! Now your device is in iOS 4.3.5 and it is jailbroken.
Note that it is tethered jailbreak which mean that you will have to connect it to PC every time you reboot it to make sure that you can enjoy full functions of the phone.
